They call the season of picking a party candidate a "Horse Race." I call it annoying. I'd much rather watch a real horse race. At least I could bet on that.
The debates have been embarrassing.(Newt stumbling around, Mitt sounding like a left winger...sheesh.) The rhetoric has been embarrassing (negative words, foolish statements, eeeekkk). The President has been embarrassing. Just ask Governor Jan Brewer, who got a book critique instead of real action on the border security issue when she spoke to the President the other day. Good grief, people.
Why can't people actually be civil to one another? Why can't we find candidates who have strength like the proverbial horse? Someone who can go the distance with majesty instead of fumbles. I like Newt, but he opens his mouth and doesn't think before he opens it. Mitt has the habit of talking up his Romneycare as if it were something fresh and new...not, it's another socialist program just like Obamacare.
Can't we get some honesty? Why do people continually try to cover their butt? Just say it like it is, and let the chips fall where they may. We used to have a politician here in our area who never minced words. You knew exactly where he stood on every issue. He was crusty, ornery, and opinionated. But you knew where he stood no matter what. I want THAT in a Presidential candidate. But the press would likely paint him/her as a fruitcake, I suppose. We just can't seem to win for losing. Give me a horse race with real horses anytime!

Arizona Cactus
When I was a kid, we crossed the border into Arizona and encountered some spectacular cactus. Tall saguaro (Sa wa roe)towers with lively blooms on the tips of their arms...as if the cacti carried bouquets of flowers for all to share. Today, all people can see are the thorns. They are missing the point.

Ignorance is a condition of the heart and mind. It isn't born of reality, it is born of opinion, judgment, and deception. And that type of self-centered behavior always leads to destruction!
Yesterday, May 4, 2010, someone sent an envelope of white powder to Governor Jan Brewer's office. Did the mainline media report it? Not really, you had to hunt for any information. Did anyone raise a hue and cry about her safety? No. Talk about a double standard. It's ignorance in the extreme.
Based on my own law enforcement experience, let's talk about the AZ law for a minute. There is nothing new in it. It changes NOTHING. It simply asks local law enforcement to pick up the task that the Fed gov should be enforcing. Its wording is THE SAME as the current federal laws.
What about this screaming tantrum about "racial profiling" and other garbage? ALL legislation throughout the United States has to conform to Supreme Court rulings such as Miranda v Arizona, and the rulings about "probable cause." ALL law enforcement agencies in America must subscribe to those precedents. When they do not, there is hell to pay- because their cases are all thrown out. No law enforcement officer can go around arresting people because he or she has a snit that day. They can't stop you unless you do something suspicious. They MUST have some logical reason based upon their training that causes them to be concerned. But you know what? If you cross the center line while driving down the road, you're going to get stopped. And tough if you don't like it.
The Arizona law legally stresses Supreme Court precedents. It does NOT countermand them, nor does it change the thread of legal issues contained in the Federal Statute.
To hear it spouted by the left, you'd think AZ passed a law to wipe out the Mexican population by force. GOOD GRIEF.
From 1980-1990's, there were a group of people who followed the soccer game trail called "hooligans." They specifically targeted the crowds at large events and started riots that claimed many lives. They weren't real fans, they were trouble-makers who desired destruction. The left-wing people who like to stir things up with those who really don't know the truth are the same. They are worse than hooligans. They take what is lovely and destroy it for all of us.
That's the problem with the left- they have more temper tantrums than muslims. Everyone is always offended. We live in a world where political correctness causes us to walk on eggshells. We can't enforce the current laws because someone will complain. It's a big pile of thorns. What happened to the lovely landscape of Arizona, the God-given beauty of its people of all races? It's buried in a pile of bull poop, slung by the people who like to rile everyone up into a frenzy.
