Good Morning, Sunshine

At least this election I didn't wake up with a headache the next morning.
While I would some day like to see California wake up and smell the conservative roses, at least they rejected the legalization of marijuana. So there is hope.

It saddens me that Washington State can't figure out that their Senator Murray is not as much for them as she says. But then, Idaho re-elected Senator Frank Church (the epitome of liberal) numerous times because they were afraid to lose his influence in the Senate.

The electorate is often snowed by "power" because they think it will get them somewhere. Personally, I think too much power messes with the balance in government, but that's my opinion. The "power" should rest with the people of America, and Congress should be listening to us. We'll see if that begins to happen now that the Republicans have won the majority in the House.

Congrats to the new folks- and we're praying for you. You'll need it.And the great news of the morning is that Nancy Pelosi is gone from our radar. Yahoo.

I got a call yesterday from Raul Labrador's campaign in Boise Idaho. My phone talks to me before I pick up, and it said that I was receiving a call from Bo-say I.D. I resisted the temptation to laugh. The young man on the other end started to ask me if he could count on our vote for Raul- I said we already voted for him earlier in the day. His response blessed me. Excitedly he responded, "Really? Oh, thank you!"
Whoever you are, bless you for not being a recording and for showing some sort of emotion about the whole thing. This recording trend drives me up the wall. I want real people to talk to, not stupid recordings.

At any rate, we are now past that hurdle until 2012. I'm not looking forward to that nastiness. Politics has gone from ordinary nasty to ridiculous nasty in just a few short years. I'd rather just say what Sgt Friday used to say, "Just the facts." I live in hope.
