While the World Sleeps

Evil plans are always made when people don't pay attention. According to Israeli intelligence this week, Iran can already make a bomb. While we frittered away our time in worthless diplomacy, Iran pushed their program forward. As if they were really concerned about world peace. Ha!

While the world believed North Korea's lies about stopping their nuclear enrichment, THEY also forged ahead on a new plant. The world in effect slept through the process. This week we have learned that they had a secret nuclear plant that will do the evil deeds we all dread. And today, they have attacked a South Korean island just for the sheer nastiness of it.

You cannot stop a rattlesnake in mid-strike and ask it to take the venom out of its fangs! You cannot explain logical, Judeo-Christian mindsets for the importance of human life to people who hate. It does not work.

For example on a smaller scale, if you want a drunk to stop driving, all the advertisements, legal penalties, and laws in the world will not stop them. They are addicted, and will drive drunk no matter what the ramifications. They have to be literally taken off the road, put through a de-tox, and their hearts/minds changed. Without that full treatment, they will continue to drive drunk. You can't reason with them. You can't scare them out of it. They don't think like the rest of us. The same applies to terrorists, communists, abusers, etc.

Telling Kim Jong Il that he's upsetting the world is ineffective, because that's his purpose. Telling Al-Qaeda that they are evil is a waste of time, since they believe the rest of us are evil. Trying to squeeze Ahmadinejad by economic sanctions on the country of Iran is a joke because he doesn't care about his people. And attempting to talk him out of his "12th Imam" mindset is an exercise in futility.

The only thing evil respects is the ability to overpower it. The only way to stop evil is to pay attention and act according to wisdom, understanding that talk- talk- talk does nothing but distract from the inevitable. Neville Chamberlain was the perfect example of that just prior to WWII. He talked his way into an agreement with Germany, even signed by Hitler. It was violated almost as soon as the ink dried.

People with evil mindsets must be dealt with in strength, not weakness. We may be about to see what complacency and worthless talk have caused.
